This policy explains what TranscriptScribe collects when you use this site and our transcription service, why, and who else handles it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Your recordings and transcripts: the files you upload, the list of terms you give us, the draft and the finished transcript.
- Order details: file name and length, turnaround, price, and order dates.
- Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid, but never your card number.
- Technical data: the cookies WordPress needs to keep you signed in, and standard server logs.
How we use it
Only to provide the service: to transcribe and review your recording, deliver the transcript, email you about your order, handle payment, and answer support requests. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share your recordings with anyone other than the providers below.
Who handles your data
- Our reviewers, who see only the orders assigned to them.
- AssemblyAI, which produces the first draft from your recording.
- Cloudflare, which stores your files privately (R2 storage).
- Stripe, which processes payments.
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email.
Each provider processes data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your recordings and transcripts so you can download them again from your orders page. You can ask us to delete them, or your whole account, at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep a record (for example, payment records for tax purposes).
Security
Files are stored in private storage and are only reachable through short-lived signed links. The site uses HTTPS throughout.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
